Leah Schlarmann

Undergraduate research assistant

Leah Schlarmann is an undergraduate studying Biological Sciences with a concentration in Genetics, Cell, and Developmental Biology and a minor in French. She joined Jiang Lab in Spring 2026. She is especially interested in studying genetic evolution and how it can be related to disease and medicine. Her past research has involved the study of neural auditory pathways, specifically hearing in background noise, in mice. Outside of the lab, Leah enjoys playing the piano, crocheting, and playing with her two cats.
