Vidha Sudhesh

Undergraduate research assistant

Vidha is a former undergraduate research assistant at the University of Washington, where she collaborated with Pengyao Jiang from July 2019 to June 2022. In her role, Vidha was responsible for measuring the mutation spectra in S. cerevisiae natural strains and examining the variation of the mutation. She used molecular cloning and CRISPR techniques to engineer natural yeast isolates for a mutation reporter gene. Additionally, she helped with preparing illumina sequencing library, analyzing mutation data from sequencing, and running PCR, among other tasks. Vidha is currently applying for medical school.
